This ‘brings the total cost to $120,000. This amount would be rea- lized by a provincial govern- ment grant of % of the total cost which would be $40,000; CMHA mortgage (2/3 of the total building..cost, over. 30: years) $60,000 and the remainder to be raised locally by members of the Rotary Club, $20,000. The units will rent at an average of $42 per. month,’ de- pending on how many are single or double but with this average monthly rent the mortgage can be repaid ‘in 30 years. The amount of Jand requir- ed must be at least 200 ft. by. 300 ft. It should be within walk- ing distance of a shopping cen- tre, yet in a residential area where the traffic will not create a problem. It is recommended. that enough land be purchased or leased so that future. expansion will be possible, also that in planning the landscaping, each unit have its own. garden plot, either in the front or back. There seems to be many advantages to planning the units around: a central court onto which each unit opens. Man Sentenced. To.
