McClelland said that ¢ny montes received by Dr. Howdle as fee for service in the ‘treatment of non-Canadians and ‘third-party claims, such as ‘Workers’ Compensation Board recipients, would be turned over to the ministry, UBC Adds New Degree In Landscape _ A new professional pro- gram ‘leading to the. degree Bachelor of Landscape Archi- tecture gets under way in September at the University of British Columbia. The four-year program, approved in concept by the UBC Senate early in 1978, is offered by the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Agri- cultural Sciences, First- and second-year students will be admitted to the program this September, and the deadline for application is June 30. ‘The program will empha- size the principles of design and their application to the land- scape. In addition to courses in landscape architecture, the cur- ticulum will span disciplines such as-fine arts, geography, community and regional plan- ning, economics, architecture, forestry; soil science aiid ’plant science. Prof. Neill said graduates of the new UBC program will be prepared to assume leader- ship roles in environmental design and management on various scales, from the home garden to the regional resource.
