The premier will be travelling from Castle- gar to Trail on Friday making numerous stops along the way. At 8:30 a.m. Friday Vander Zalm arrives at the Castlegar Airport where he will be met by Castlegar Mayor Audrey Moore. From 9 to 9:30 a.m. the premier will address students at an assembly in the Stanley Humphries secondary school gym where he will field students’ questions, From 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. Vander Zalm will be at the Castlegar and District Hospital where he will meet hospital board members and staff. He will also take part in a sod-turning ceremony to mark the beginning of construction for a long-term health care facility with 35 intermediate and 25 extended care beds. From 10:20 to 10:40 a.m., he will visit the Castlegar Library. Following the library visit the premier leaves for Rossland. At 11:40 a.m. Vander Zalm will hold a closed luncheon with the execu tive directors. of the Rossland-Trail Social Credit Party, members of the Rossland Chamber of Commerce and the Red Mountain Business Develop- ment Society. From 12:15 to 1 p.m. he will hold a closed meeting with the Rossland Chamber of Commerce and the Red Mountain Business Develop- ment Society. From 1:15 to 1:25 p.m. he will be at Cominco touring the smelter and looking at all the expansions taking place. At 2:30 p.m. he will take part in another sod-turning ceremony to mark the beginning of construction for the West Trail approach. Following the sod-turning cere mony, he will attend a reception for area mayors at Trail city hall until 3:56 p.m. From 4 until 5 p.m. he will take part in an open line radio show at the local radio station in Trail. From 6 to 5:45 p.m. he will meet with Selkirk College representatives. At 6 p.m. there will be a reception at the Cominco gym which runs until 7 p.m. From 7 to 8:30 p.m. there will be a dinner at the gym along with an auction to raise funds for the local Social Credit Party. From 8:30 to 10 p.m. Vander Zalm will hold a public town hall forum at the gym where the public will be able to ask the premier questions. (CP) — The Saskatchewan Labor Relations Board has certified one of three unions asking to represent workers at the Weyerhaeuser paper mill in Prince Albert. Local 890 of the Con- struction and General Work- ers Union in Saskatoon re- ceived certification last Fri- day. The decision followed lengthy hearings by the board in February. Local manager Kelly Reardon said the, union in- tends to start bargaining with Quadra, the general contractor, April 25. He said the union doubts if negotiations for a first con- tract will go smoothly, con- sidering the time it has taken to reach certification. The first union meeting will be held Monday in Prince Albert, about 150 kilometres north of Saskatooon.
