SHSS Parents Group keeps busy The Stanley Parents Group has been very busy this school year: Activities undertaken included contributing to a school philosophy, meetings with the external team during its district review and with Education Minister Tony Brummett. The smoking and drug alcohol policies Humprhies were also discussed. A submission made to the budget requesting allocation of funds for new equip. There are to be major renovations of the school building in the next few years to fully update the structure. The parents group has requested the Castlegar school board set aside money for new equipment not covered by the Ministry of Education was committee ment when the building is complete. Plans are underway to change the activity room into a proper performing arts theatre. This will be a great benefit to both the school and community. For the first time, the parents group will be in volved in this process.
