Whitewater Ski Hill as part
of the transitional training
program and enjoyed his

Allen treated his applicant
as he does anyone else. He
sized up his present skills and
his future potential, along
with his attitude and appear-
ance. Then he defined a
specific job that the young
man could perform and gain
competency at fairly quickly.
He monitored his perfor-
mance until he was sure that
the job was mastered, and
then introduced him to the
next job.

Allen said he is very
pleased with his transitional
training program graduate.

“Not only has the student
become an exceptionally ded-
icated reliable employee, but
he has progressed beyond my
expectations,” Allen said.
“now the young man is
working right at the heart of
the business — cooking ham-
burgers on the grill.”

Allen said he saw an eager
young man to whom he could
offer challenge, a chance for
success, and a day’s pay in
return for a good day's work.
Allen also said he would do it
over again. “People deserve
an opportunity to prove
themselves.”
