That's the message city hall received from North Castlegar Property owners during a recent mailout that asked whether the municipality could borrow money to make necessary improvements to the sewer system. Along with this year’s utility bills, Municipal Clerk Diane Kunz also mailed out petitions to North Castlegar property owners —which they could retum to city hall if they were clearly against borrowing money to pay for improvements to the North Castlegar sewage infrastructure. Kunz said she and other staff members received @ lot of tele- phone calls requesting more information about the city's plans. The province-wide audit by the Ministry of Forests began after inaccuracies, which pointed to missing PHSPs dating back to 1977, were discovered by in- house staff at the Castlegar-based forestry office. A PHSP is a legally required document outlin and who is to manage the area. Director of Silviculture for the Ministry of Forests, Henry Ben- skin, said the review process has been divided into four stages: the first of which involved individual forestry offices sending investi- gation results to Victoria by March 15 ‘Each district office has been completing work sheets and checklists to assess cut-block files containing PHSP informa- tion,” Benskin said.
