The book agent is very much in evi- dence in Rossland just now. The last one toswoop down upon unsuspecting citizens is a double-action, triple expan- sion, sort of individual who will gauran- — tee to sell books where only weeds grow. It is impossible to guard against his en- trance for he carries no sample case. Before the citizen is aware of the fact he has flashed before him samples which the agent takes from his pocket. The citizen enters a positive protest, which grows feebler and feebler asthe agent gets in his work and informs the victim he can have books at his own terms. No matter what set of books one asked for the agent can produce samples of them from his capacious pockets.
