Synopsis of Building Bylaw Amendment No. 1124

Please take notice that the Regional District of Central Kootenay proposes to adopt
Bylaw No. 1124 which will authorize the amendment of Building Bylaw No. 488, 1987.

A copy of Bylaw No. 1124 follows
A bylaw to amend Regional District of Central Kootenay Building Bylaw No. 488, 1987,
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend “The Regional District of Central Kootenay

NOW THEREFORE, THE REGIONAL BOARD OF THE REGIONAL DISTRICT OF CENTRAL
KOOTENAY IN OPEN MEETING ASSEMBLED ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Regional District of Central Kootenay Building Bylaw No. 488, 1987 shall be

(a) Schedule “A” shail be deleted in its entirety and replaced with ‘Schedule “A” attached

2. This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the “Building Amendment Bylaw No.

Fee for construction value (declared or assessed) as determined by the Regional District of
Central Kootenay for all new construction, reconstruction, additions, extension, alterations
of repair of any building and the placement of single or double-wide mobile homes.

Inspections not listed in Section 4.4, 4.5 & 4.6 of this bylaw and where work was
incomplete or improperly done. (At the discretion of the Chief Building Inspector),

Notwithstanding the foregoing, there shall be no fee charged for the construction,
moving or demolition of an accessory building less than 10 m. (107 square feet) in
building area which does not create a hazard

Any person who commences construction prior to obtaining a permit as required by
Building Bylaw No. 488, shall pay double that fee as prescribed by this Schedule -
except that this additional fee shall not exceed $250.00

Construction shall be deemed to have commenced when a building has been moved to
its new location or the concrete footings poured, or equivalent work is in place when

to six (6) months trom the date of issuance of the building permit - subject to the
