He lived at Lebedow flats and Koch Siding before mov- ing to Winlaw in 1947, \/here he had since resided. He was a member «f the USCC and enjoyed farm work, gardening and hi Iping others. Mr. Strilaeff is survived by his wife Molly; one son, William of Winlaw; two daughters, Mary Shubin of Kamsack, Sask. and Nellie Chernenkoff of Castlegar; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pe was predeceased by one brother and five sisters. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Castlegar Funeral Cha- pel. Session held in Kamloops The 83rd session of the Knights of Pythias and the 69th session of Pythian Sis- ters was held in Kamloops on May 9, 16 and 11. Following registration, a welcome tea and reception was held at a Kamloops hotel. Wine and cheese was served to the ladies at the Kamloops Curling Club fol lowing a golf tournament held earlier in the day. Rec news The Bob Brandson Pool is open and in full operation for the summer season. Public swimming during June is Monday to Friday, 3:30 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 8:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. This year season passes may be purchased at a cost of family $70, adults $40, stu- dents $35 and children $25. As well, strip tickets are available at a reduced cost. Along with public swim ming, we have a variety of other programs. Parent and Tot Swim, Masters Swim, Adult Swim, free Seniors Swim and Ladies Aquabics. For all the details give the recreation office a call. Safety Week Next week, June 3-9 is Red Cross Water and Boat Safety Week, There will be lots happening at the Bob Brand- son Pool. There will be dem onstrations and real-life sit uations at the beginning of each evening public swim ming session. As well there is a water safety poster con test. Posters must be sub- mitted by June 4 and must be related to water or boating safety. The age categories are seven and under, eight to 10 years and 11 to 13 years. Prizes will be awarded for each category. Fitness Evening Joint opening ceremonies were held with Grand Lodge officers and sisters taking part. A social evening fol lowed in a western theme. On May 10, Grand Sessions began at 8:30 a.m. under the convenorship of Grand Chief Mildred Turner of Cranbrook. Delegates were present from all but one of the sub- ordinate temples of B.C. Ora Lightle was the delegate for Kootenay Temple No. 37. Visiting dignitaries were introduced and given ap- propriate honors.
