It says it is against an export duty on ore unless Mr. Heinze be made by the gov- ernment to reduce his freight and treat- ment rates so that the producte of the mines can be marketed as cheaply on thie side 4s on the other side of the in- ternational boundary line. C., gives | g, fuller details of the recent decision in the case of R. T. Daniels vs. the Gold Hill Mining company, to set aside acon- veyanc : made by the directors in pursu- ance of powers given them under the statutes of the state of Washington. Justice Draké, in cancelling the bill of sale, decided that any company regis- tered in British Celumbia as a foreign company can not dispose of property un- til a resolution has been "assed at a spe- ia. The case will be appealed. It will be a matter of interest to know that no action of a: American company 9s to ita property across the line is legal unless enacted within the province of British mbia and under the statutes there in force, If this decision stand, it will open a question as to the validity of a number of transactions m: in the past, involving large interests. — A Maxim Modernized. “Take the goods the gods provide thee,” this is wiedom’s deepest lore, But while taking don’t neglect to keep Tl Frank A.
