Health minister attends meeting Health Minister Peter Dueck attended a recent re- ception at the University of British Columbia honoring the first men and women to complete a ministry peer counselling training program for senior citizens. The counsellors and minis: try staff attended a two-day workshop aimed at complet ing the evaluation of the training programs, and de- veloping new ways in which the ministry and seniors can co-operate to improve pro- gram delivery to seniors. Some 90 people attended the conference, which follows completion of a six-month training course in six B.C. communities — Victoria, Vancouver West End, Nan- aimo, Quesnel, Trail and Peachland — to train seniors AWARDS Lisa Baker was chosen the best all-round student at the recent Kinnaird Junior sec- ondary school awards cere- mony.
