ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

An Engineering Technician is required by the City of Castlegar
a growing municipality of approximately 7,000 people located in
the Regional Distnct of Central Kootenay

The position involves skilled work of a technical nature in the
Engineering Services section of the Engineering/Public Works
Department. It includes co-ordination of activities for the
completion of projects requiring engineering/technical expertise
surveying, preparation of cost estimates, preparation of plans and
drawings, preparation of contract documents, field inspections and
instructions, and maintenance of technical records. This position
will report to the Superintendent of Public Works

The successful candidate will have completed a course of studies
in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized Technical
Institute, or equivalent; have a membership or eligibility for
membership in the Association of Applied Science Technologists
and Technicians of British Columbia; and have at least 5 years
experience (government or private) with municipal engineering
projects. Combinations of tgaining and experience which are
equivalent to. the above may also be acceptable.

The salary range and benefit package is in accordance with the
collective agreement
