Designed to give you a balanced variety of courses, you will have your pick of biology and chemistry classes, including lab sessions. In addition, your associate degree lets you explore other subject areas like English Studies 12, mathematics and general arts. Other prerequisites depend on the courses chosen to make up the degree, and should be determined with the advice of a Selkirk College counsellor. Students who lack the admission requirements may still gain admission to the program by taking a combination of academic upgrading and university courses during the first year. These must include a minimum of 18 credits in Science at the second-year level taken in two or more subject areas. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS A. 6 credits in first-year English; and B. 6 credits in Mathematics which shall include at least 3 credits in Calculus; and C. 36 credits in Science, which shall include at least 3 credits in a laboratory science; and D. 6 credits in Arts other than English (excluding Mathematics and Laboratory-based Science courses); and E. 6 credits in Arts, Science, or other areas.
