Support was evident as
cheques were presented to Mr.
Oglow from the Castlegar
Rotary and the Rotary Anns.
Presentations were also made
by the Canadian Legion and the
Ladies Auxiliary to the Cana-
dian Legion. Gifts of plants
were acknowledged as well as a
clock from the Catholic Wo-
men's League. The clock will be
displayed in’ the - lounge in
memory. of Father Brophy.
CM&H ‘representative chose
the Canadian Flag as that
company's gift.

Included in the ceremonies
was the passing of the keys
from contractors F. J, MacLeod
to Enco Engineering and finally
to Mr. Oglow.

Following Rev. R. Klines
blessing and the conclusion of
the ribbon cutting ceremonies,
guests were invited to sign the
guest book, enjoy refreshments
and tour the facilities.

A gathering of over 70
friends, leaders and Scouts pald
homage to Mr. and Mrs. Loyd
Groutage last Saturday eve-
ning, The océasion took the
form of a reception and supper,
after which several tributes
attested to the contribution
this couple has made to the
community as Scout leaders. (

Scout Council Gwilym Hughes,
acted as master of ceremonies
and called upon the president of
the Kootenay Boundary Region
Bill Bradley, who expressed the
gratitude of the region and re-
ferred to Mr. Groutage’s in-
tense love for nature. and his
professional calling as a garden-
er with the concomitant in-
volvement which that required.

He felt that Mr, Groutage’s
service was far from complete

and warned that he would |

surely be called to assist as a

activities and training. ef

humorous anecdote of Mr.
Groutage taking the part of a
Cub during a rehearsal of an
investiture ceremony when a
Cub Pack first commenced in
Robson.

double-storied plastic palaces in
the woods,
In his tribute, Mr. Hughes
coupled the support and. as-
sistance of Mr. Groutage’s wife
Agnes, who was at one time the
only lady Scoutmaster in
Canada. 1
It wasa delight to welcome
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Edgett from
Comox and Mr. and Mrs,
Wayne. Groutage of Richmond,
Loyd’and Agnes’ daughter and
son, and their respective hus-

Monday from the chapel of the
> Castlegar Funeral Home for
Darlene Anne (Tony) Campbell,
81, who'died Nov. 4 in Van-
couver..

Born “Jan. 2, 1989, in
Nordegg, Alta., Mrs. Campbell
received her education in that

rovince taking her nurses
training at the Provincial
Mental Hospital at Essendale
from 1958 to 1961,

She was married ih Port
Coquitlam in 1960 residing in
the lower mainland until 1962
when she returned to Alberta,
‘Three years later, Castlegar
became her home.

From’1966 to 1971 Mrs.
Campbell was employed at the
Castlegar and District Hospital
and. from 1978 to 1976 she
worked at the Trail Regional
Hospital.

She was very active with
the Castlegar Figure Skating
Club and: the Castlegar ‘Aqua-
nauts Speed C!

Mrs. cuatel is survived |
by her husband, Keith; two
daughters Corrie and Elaine,
both at home; her mother, Mrs.
Annie Lowden of Red Deer;
one brother, Andrew Helmer of
Kelowna and one sister, Mrs.
Jeannie Kirby of Victoria.

She was predeceased by
her father, Calvin, in'1942.
