regional district and neither has

society. There are eight employ-
ees at the library, none of which
are full-time. Hours of some
librarians have had to increase
due to a growing list of users,

ers have helped to alleviate the
growing load.

made easier.

Castlegar council has adopted
a new Freedom of Information
Bylaw which complies with the
provincial government's Free-
dom of Information and Protec-
tion of Privacy Act.

But while access is easier, the
information isn’t free.

The new bylaw outlines costs
for commercial and non-com-

skills students need when they

the school should play in helping
students achieve those skills.

gar for the pilot project. Over-
whelmed by the large turnout,
Surgenor, stood by watching resi-
dents express their ideas.

ty. This is phenomenal.”

gating an incident in which three

A purple and green knapsack
containing school supplies has
been stolen from in front of the
Masonic Lodge on 3rd Street in
Castlegar. The theft happened
sometime between Nov. 9 and 10.
RCMP are investigating.

Road conditions

Black ice is being blamed as
the cause of a motor vehicle acci-
dent on Highway 3 Nov. 11. The
driver of the 1995 GMC pickup,
Donna Webster, of Robson, was
taken to Castlegar and District
Hospital for treatment of minor
injunes. Damage to the truck was
estimated at $10,000.

dogs are chasing wildlife and
sheep and are reminding dog

under the Wildlife Act and
Livestock Protection Act.

domestic animals.
