Hold a Successful Christmas Bake Sale

The Kiwanis Scout Hall in
Castlegar was the scene of
much activity on Saturday
when the 1st Castlegar Rang-
ers, Guides and Brownies,
together with the Parent
Group, held a successful Christ-
mas tea and bake sale.

A delicious variety of
snacks was served by the
Guides and Rangers to the
many guests. The girls’
mothers did a wonderful job of
stocking the bake table with-a

the many visitors were Twin
Rivers Division Commissioner,
Mrs. R. Bro, Kinwood-Belle
district commissioner, Mrs.
Cooke and Mrs. H. Johnson,
who has been active in Guiding
in various capacities since 1943.

The success of the event is
credited to the wonderful
cooperation and untiring efforts
of all concerned—mothers, lead-
ers and girls, with a special
mention given the Brownies

Rangers and Guides were
commended: for their willing
service and efforts,

Proceeds from this com-
bined effort will be used for
camping and relative activities.
Thanks and deep appreciation
has been extended to all who
assisted in any way to make the
day such a success,

sisted of telephone memos
made by the Brownies under
the supervision of Mrs. L.
Keraiff. The Guides had a
White Elephant and handicraft
table, along with a wall display
of beautiful door wreaths, as
well as a table of some 40
Christmas puddings. The latter
two items were the handiwork
of the Guides, with the
assistance of their leaders, Mrs.
J. McKay and = Mrs.
Sommers.

A most popular corner was
the Ranger table displaying
their lovely handicrafts and
Christmas candles. Ticket sales
were ably handled by Ranger
laeader Mrs. Audrey Cunliffe.

The door prize was a
handsome Christmas __ table-
centre handcrafted by Mrs. W.
A. Callaghan. This was won by
Mrs. M. Wynnychuk.
