Mrs. Shea was chosen as the delegate
to the CeWelLe Convention to be held in
Nelson May 20th and 21st.
Prior. to the election of officers,
Father Barnes’ thanked the C.WeL. for
their splendid work, increased member—
ship and assistance to him during his
first year as Pastor of St Rita's
Parisho He also urged more devout ad-
herence to our Catholic faith, especi-
ally during the Lenten Season. His talk
also stressed the value of prayer.

CoWeLe, presented Miss N. Stenberg with
a little gift for her help to the
ague on so many occasions. The Presi-
ent thanked the 1948 executive for
heir loyalty and assistance. Refresh-—
ents were served by the Hostesses,
esdames CeBrodman and LeBourdon. ;

The Fair Committee of the Castlegar—
Robson Canadian Legion & Ladies Auxi-
Liary met at the home of Mrs.J.Parkin
on Thurs. to discuss plans for their
third annual Fall Faire The date was
set for Septe9th & 10th. Mrs.H.Foxlee
was appointed chairman and Mrs. EeA.
McDonald Sec.Treas. At the. conclusion
of business, dainty refreshments were
served by the hostess.

COMMUNION BREAKFAST .

At the April meeting of St-Rita's _
Holy Name Society of Castlegar, held
in the rectory, it was decided to hold
3 Communion Breakfast on Sunday, May

Le Campbell and We Oleski.

The business of the meeting consist—
ed in - Instructional - "The Origin of
the Holy Name Society" read by. the
President Alf.Read; Spiritual -"Expla~
nation of Holy Week Ceremonies and the
Scriptural Narrative of Christ's deal-—
ings with His enemies previous to His
betrayal and passion"; a talk given by
the Chaplain, Father Barnes, with dis-
cussion followings

Further ways and means of swelling
the parish building fund were discuss—
ed and a helpful suggestion was made
by Mr. Le Campbell, which was readily
agreed upon and moved by Walter Fields
and F. Parente

Prayer brought this meeting to a
close, with everyone (Cont.on P.5)

A hearty vote of thanks was given to
those members, who in the past, had
done so much towards building and de-
veloping the Coronation Hall.

_Mr. Bell praised the work of all thos
members who, since the formation of the
Castlegar Community Club, had given so
much of their time and money in order
that the Community might have a meeting
Place. He believes that the work will
not be lost but will be carried forward
to greater thingso

It was decided that the I.0.D.E., the
Pythian Sisters and the Castlegar Loung
People*s Sports Club be approached in
order that their wishes may be followed
in respect to their donations (held in
reserve) towards the installation of
sanitation in the Hall.

elor, Mrs-Richards, and Mrs.Jones.
Mrs-Mlllar and MrsoMcDonald were in
charge of the sewing table. Mre-Riley
and Mrs.HeBate had charge of the Home
Cooking, also selling tickets on an
Angel Cake, Mrs.Williams being holder
of the lucky tickete Mrs.Houston was
in charge of the tickets on the elec-
tric kettle and wool afghan, Master
Doug. Richards, age 19 months, holding
the lucky ticket on tne kettle, while
MrsoFoxley carried off the afghan with
great delight.
