The color theme chosen for the occasion was «lilac, purple and white. The bride chose a lovely long gown made of a fan- was encrusted with venetian lace, seed pearls and opal sequins. The gown opened to a ruffled design and finished to trim the train. She wore a silk flowered headpiece adorned with pearls and the veil was trimmed with a rolled hem. It was the first wedding in the new church. The bride and groom exchanged vows in front of Pastor L. Markham of Victoria and Pastor Ken Smith of Castlegar. The bride and groom sang a pledge of their love for one another, Only The Beginning. Sister of the groom, Sharon Francis sang a beautiful solo during the signing of the register. The organist and pianist were Gary and Evonne Webb of Victoria. The church was decorated with blue and white silk flowers in a large candleabra. Fresh gladioloas and blue and white fabric stuffed hearts with pink flowers marked the pews. The bride entered the church on her father’s arm wearing a gown of white satin with high collar and a sheer yoke, The fitted bodice was detailed jn fing lace, (seed pearls and sequins. The long fitted alee ves pufied at the shoulder and featured fine lace and lily point sleeves buttoned at the wrist. The skirt was bordered with seed pearls. The bride wore a crown tiara accented with sequins and pearks, She wore a gold locket with a photograph of her g Th in it. She poten ‘a bouget of red roses, stephenotis and ivy that cascaded down with baby’s breath, ribbon and pearls. Sandy Lee of Vancouver, a long-time friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Linda Dalla Lana, sister of the bridge, Sharon Francis, sister of the groom, and Brenda Lambier and Dawn Fehr, friends of the bride. The flowergirls were Clarice Dalla Lana and Maria Dalla Lana, nieces of the bride. The attendenats wore electric blue cocktail-length gowns covered with satin ecrew. They carried elegant ecrew lace fans with pink roses, blue batchelor buttons with ribbon and pearls cascading down. The flowergirls had matching electric blue dresses with layers of ecrew lace. They carried smaller lace fans like the bridesmaids’. e groom was attired in an elegant dark grey tuxedo morning suit and a red rose boutonniere. The best man was Jackson Low, of Victoria, a friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Steven Read, brother of the bride, and David Friesen, Rod Penman, and Shaune Montgomery. They wore dark grey morning suits with pink carnation boutonnieres and electric blue bowties and cumberbunds. The ringbearer was Nathan Dalla Lana, a nephew of the bride. He wore a grew tuxedo with matching electric blue bowtie and cumberbund. ‘The bride's mother wore an elegant tea-length dress of sky blue satin with matching cumberbund and shoes. She wore a corsage of pink carnations and a silver ribbon. s The groom's mother chose a lovely light grey tea-length dress with a pink and white carnation corsage. The three-tiered wedding cake was made and beautifully decorated by the groom's sister, Sandy Morley. It had pink and white roses and fine lace and latice work. The cake was topped with a “precious moments” bride and groom porcelain figurine. ‘The fruitcake that the bride and groom passed out to their friends and relatives was made by the bride's grand mother, Hilda Read. The master of ceremonies was Luciano Dalla Lana, brother-in-law of the bride. The toast to the bride was given by the bride's brother-in-law, Ken Nuyens. Head table decorations consisted of lace fans with ribbon flowers made by the brides mother, crystal candle holders and a large white ceramic basket of fresh flowers, and white lace table cloth with blue underlay. The guests tables had lovely hand made ceramic baskets with fresh flowers and smaller ceramic baskets with ribbon flowers on them for the mints. Guest book attendent was Cara Morley niece of the groom from Victoria. The bride’s grandmother, Lily Killough, wrote a lovely poem about the bride's life. Many family members sang to the bride and Some songs were written for the bride about her life. The bride’s mother sang “Sunrise, Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof. A group of the attendants sang Tammy's in Love. Out-of-town guests came from Vancouver, Victoria, Prince George, Penticton, and Kelowna.
