Recreation news Christmas is still 61 days away, so it isn't too early to think about giving a “special” gift to a “special” person. This year we are offering a number of one-day workshops at which you will be able to make, finish and take home a beautiful homemade Christ mas gift (even if you have two left hands). You don’t have to be talented to make any of the following: Gingerbread House We are offering two sessions and all you have to do is show up! All the baking is done for you, so come and put together a beautiful gingerbread house, complete with trees, people and decorations under the careful direction of Leona Horvath. You will be thrilled by your finished product (and so will your children and grand. children). A gingerbread house is something you can treasure for years to come or eat up after Christmas We will supply all the decorations, icing and gingerbread pieces along with different gingerbread house designs to take home. We will put the coffee on, so come, bring a friend and design a winter wonderland of your very own. Registration is limited so don't be disappointed early. The sessions will be from 9 a.m. - noon and Dec. 7 from 7 10 p.m. in the complex kitchen. Fee is $30. Choir Angel Come and learn how to make two beautiful choir angels all in lace with curly hair, a sight to behold. You will be supplied with all the material and knowledge to make and bring home the start of your choir. This craft is easy enough for the novice right through to the experienced, and will only take two hours. For a peek at the finished product please feel free to stop by the recreation office and take a peek at this adorable angel, that the instructor Bev Hyashi has created. What a better way to spend an evening out with friends. Sign up early as class size is limited. It takes place Nov. 21 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the complex. Fee is $10. Christmas Tree Decoration Need new tree decorations? Dur- ing this class you will be able to make enough decorations of a beaded lace angel for yourself and a friend. It takes place from 7 - 9 p.m. Nov. 28 at the complex. Fee is $8. Lifted Star Create a family treasure in one evening with a beautiful lifted star. Our talented instructor Eileen Aksel son has been teaching sewing and quilting for a number of years and she has chosen an easy-to-follow, anyone-can-master, star that will make a wonderful Christmas decor- ation or gift. This sewn star is made of fabric, fitted in a hoop and hung on the wall. But space is limited so please register early not to be disap- pointed. It takes place 6:45 - 9:45 p.m. Nov. 22 or 29 at the KJSS sewing room. Fee is $10 plus supplies.
