On the weekend the Warriors took three or four points which kept them in good shape in the Western Division standings. Kimberley, who Rossland tied 44 Friday, is twenty-three points out of first in the division, which would seem to indicate the East Division is quite strong while in the West four teams are in contention while Grand Forks seems to be out ofit. Well the game in our Retirees first competition have been completed and the draw has been made up in the second round. In the opening competition Angus Popplewell's foursome with Carl Seefeldt third, Ken Stanton second, Harry Gregory led and Hal McCormack filling in the fifth spot is finished play in top spot with 13 points from six wins and a tie. They nosed out Norm Harry's rink of Dick Vermiere third, Jack Hook second, John Irvin lead and Carl Osing fifth man with 12. Fred Munro with Bernie Ferrey third, and Larry Prough second, Ray Scott lead and Lou Freeman in fifth spot can tie Harry with a win in his final game. 1be draw for the second competition is complete and play started on Thursday with a full slate of games. 1be manpower on all rinks will remain the same, only personnel will change. The skips will remain the same as in the first round and so before nine games will be scheduled for each rink with games every Tuesday and Thursday for five weeks ~til each rink has played every other one in each competition. , As the season progresses I shall attempt to keep the readers in touch with what is happening.
