Those bethels, in turn, visi- ted Castlegar at the end of February for a potluck. No supper in honor of the visit of the deputy to Bethel 60. During the meeting follow- ing the supper, Krista Bent- ley and Lana Venier were in- itiated into Job's Daughters. Also, during February the bethel held a church parade at the Castlegar United Church and participated in the service by reading scrip- tures and telling a children's story. After church a lun- cheon was held at the home of HQ Victoria. In Mareh, 11 girls and five adults travelled by bus with bethels from Kimberley, Cranbrook and Nelson to Penticton for grand sessions. During sessions several of the girls participated in var. ious competitions and re. ceived many prizes. Also during sessions Margaret Henne PBG, was installed as Grand Fifth Messenger for B.C. In order to raise money for the Rick Hansen Man in Motion Tour, a slave auction was held. The girls decorated their legs and hid behind a screen. Bidding was based on the appearance of legs only and no one knew who was pur- chased until after the auction was over. As a result of this and other fund raising activities, Bethel No. 60 was able to contribute $75 to the Man in Motion. A Mother's Day Tea was held in May. The tables were decorated with baskets of red and white flowers. The door prize of a large stuffed pony was won by Rhonda Swetlishoff. Krista Bentley won the prize for selling the most tickets. SP Tyrion Miskell and JP Chloe Hegan organized a roller skating party for the bethel followed by food ana fun at Hegan’s house. May is also the month for the elections of the new bethel officers and the month to install the new Bethel Guardian council. Elaine Higgins officiated at the in. stallation of Bonnie Thomp- son — guardian, Patrick Heg an — associate guardian, Patti Richards — guardian treasurer, Vi Hegan — dir ector of music, Dawn Bate — guardian secretary, Margar- et Henne — director of Epochs, Artee Venier, prom otor of paraphenalia, Lynn Miskell — promotor of hos. pitality and Arla Rourke — promotor of sociability. Later in the evening, ano- ther slave auction was held, but this time the girls were able to buy their mothers for slaves. At the end of May, HQ Victoria, SP Tyrion, BG Bonnie Thompson, PGB Lynn Miskell and PBG Margaret Henne travelled to Ymir to join GG Eileen Mitchen and bethels from Kimberley, Cranbrook, Trail and Nelson for a weekend of fun and friendship. It was unfortunate that more of the girls from this bethel did not take the opportunity to participate in this fun activity because al though the weather was cold and wet, those who attended had a great time and friend ships made at grand sessions. were renewed As her special project HQ Victoria made a donation to the Christina Stewart Mem. orial Bursary to Selkirk Col. lege PARK $375 = 18" 47 c.c. of quiet, smooth power show “Our World”.
