ue CastlegarNews Apri! 27, 1991 PULPIT & PEW By PASTOR BOB MARSH Calvary Baptist Church Statistics Canada has released its 1990 figures for legalized abortion — one out of every four conceptions have ended as an aborted fetus. This wonderful country with — its democratic freedoms has slaughtered 25 per cent of its future generation. On May 11, you will or will not have witnessed a peaceful protest against the fact that abortion costs lives. I believe that another person’s life is a price too high to pay for my personal freedom. The bottom line is that-we-kill the unborn in_this coun- try for the sake of personal con- venience. Often events come into our lives at inconvenient times. We have learned to live with most of these incon- veniences because we often do not have the power at our disposal™to change our circumstances. Just because we have the power, freedom and technology available and at our disposal does not mean that we need to sacrifice an innocent life for per- sonal liberty. Should we exercise our liberty at the cost of, an innocent child’s life? ‘Thou shalt* not kill slaughter).’’ This remains final word on abortion until the judgment. Are you prepared | to ignore it because it may inconvenien- ce your life?
