He said it will make a few
more jobs for young people,
and allow some community
groups to provide useful ser-
vices.

izens from around the riding

many applications and to give
advice to the government re-
garding priorities. There's so

“If this is the best the Lib-
erals can do in job creation,
then we have to use the
money as best we can to spin
a little economic gold.”

Kristiansen said all de-
cisions on spending the
money are made by the gov-
ernment, and his committee
has only an advisory cap-
acity.

The additional money will
fund more priority projects
under the program, for which
the deadline was Feb. 28.

Former resident
dies at Gibson's

Former Castlegar resident
Ralph Alex Grisack, passed
away March 6 at Gibson's,
B.C., age 69.

Mr. and Mrs. Grisack came
to Castlegar from Vancouver
Island in the 1960s. They
purchased and operated the
Castleaird Hardware Store in
the Plaza. Upon retirement
in February 1973, they re-
tired to Gibson's.

He is survived by wife
Helen; two sons, Howard,

wife Paulette and children of
Delta; and Steven, wife Nor-
een and children of north
Burnaby; two sisters, Mrs.
D.J. (Doris) Cameron
Roberts Creek, q
W.J. (Evelyn) Thomas of
Fort St. James; and one
brother-in-law, Jack L. Ward
of New Westminister.
