Prayer services began Monday evening from the Pass- more Community Hall and con- cluded Tuesday afternoon for Pete J. Posnikoff, 66, of Slocan Park, who died suddenly on Saturday at the Kootenay Lake District Hospital in Nelson. Mr. Posnikoff was born July 10, 1912 in Kylemore, Sask. where he received his education, He married in that community and farmed there until 1943, when he moved to B.C. and settled in Slocan Park. Mr. Posnikoff worked at his carpenter's trade during his residence in B.C. He was an active member of the Union of Postnikoff and enjoyed singing in Douk- hobor choirs. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three sons, Pete of Trail, John of Thrums and Nick of Lethbridge, Alta.; a daughter, Mrs. Nick (Florence) Vishloff of Creston; and eight grandchil- dren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Chernoff of Verigin, Sask., and Mrs. Helen Sherbinin of Crescent Valley; and a brother, Bill, of Crescent Valley. Salikin of Castle- gar has been charged with driving too fast for road con- ditions following a four-vehicle incident Thursday on Columbia Avenue. The Salikin vehicle, a 1968 Chevy, sustained approximate- ly $700 damage after it struck the rear of a 1977 Dodge driven by Serge Plotnikoff. The Plot- nikoff vehicle in turn hit the rear of a 1975 Honda, driyen by Margaret Munns of Castlegar which in turn ran into the rear of a 1977 Chevy van driven by Richard Desjardins of Blue- berry Creek.
