John .White’s multimedia
exhibit Differences helps kick off
the fifth annual Silverton Funfest.

The exhibit opens Thursday at 7
p.m. a¥ the Silverton Gallery with
original music, the video Invasion
of the Alien Dog People,.a slide
show of an Arctic canoe trip, and
paintings. The show will continue
Friday, Saturday and Sunday,
from noon to 4 p.m

Snow sculptures can be started
anytime outside the gallery. Fred
Clark will be judging by 2 p.m
Sunday.

On Friday at 8 p.m. at the
gallery, a coffee house will feature
local entertainment.

On Saturday at 9 a.m. at the
school gym, a five-team basket-
ball tournament will begin. The
playoff game will start at 4:30
p.m

At the Memorial Hall from 8
a.m. to 10:30 a.m. enjoy a_pan-
cake breakfast put on by the New
Denver Brownies.

At 10 a.m. Pavilion residents
and the Grade 5/6 class will start
their bake sale. The food booth
opens at 11:30 a.m.

At naon, the toboggan and GT
race will take place on the old Red

renovation, all activities will take
place by Memorial Hall. At 11:30
a.m. the food booth opens
followed by kids’ firelighting con-
test with Danny Jones at noon. At
1 p.m. the snowshoe obstacle race
will take place. At 1:30 p.m. there
will be broomball. Get your teams
ready--Six players to a team. The
great tug of war between New
Denver and Silverton starts at 3
p.m. Prizes will be awarded
following this event
