On and afver December 1, The RossLanp Ev" #x1NG REconn will be delivered toany address in the United States or Canada for $5 a year, und delivered toany part of the city for 16 cents @ week, or 50 cents 8 month The only objection so far urged against Ross Thompson for mayor is that he will not be able to make speeches and entertain guests of the city. In the firet place, there is not much of that kind of thing necessary to be done, and in the second place it is better, safer sand more essential to have’a mayor with an hon- est ptrpose —n public spirited mayor, anda man whose individunl interests are the interests of the city. It does not make so much difference what o man can do, as what he willdo. There can be no question about Mr. Thompson acting for the welfare of Rossland, and that is the kind of a man who is rieeded. The Semlin government, notes the Golden ‘‘Fra,” with satisfaction, is al- ready after the cha:ter-mongers, who were pandered to go notoriously by the ‘Torner government; and they are now required to carry out their charters to the letter or have them cancelled. For the first time in the history of British Columbia, the interest of the people is placed betore that of the charter- monger ~Columbian. There is nothing lacking but a team of horses, anil the city is able to buy them.
