Wednesday, October 14, 1992 @ IN MEMORY Frederick John Milton of South Slocan, formerly of Passmore, passed away on Monday, Oct.12, 1992 at the age of 62 years. Funeral service will be held at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel on Friday, Oct. 16, 1992 at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Fred was born June 4, 1930. at Lundbreck, Alta. As a small child, he lived for a short time at Wyndell and then moved to Grand Forks. During his early years he travelled throughout Western Canada working at var- ious jobs before settling in Regina where he began working as a pipe-liner for Interprovincial Pipe Line. . It was in Regina that he met and married es Bleau-on July 1, 1955. Later he moved Frederick John Milton to Edmonton with IPL an from 1964 until 1967 when he tried his hand at truck driv- ing. In 1967 the family moved to the Slocan Valley and settled in Passmore. : Fred worked as a logger, millwright and lastly a as welder working out of Local 359 of the boilermakers union. - Fred was an avid fisherman and special- ly enjoyed fly fishing. He was also a baseball coach when his boys were younger. He enjoyed travelling and viewing American historical sites. One of his great pleasures was cutting wood with his sons. Fred was a member of the Boilermakers Union Vancouver Local 359, Past President of the Slocan Valley Lions Club and a mem- ber of the Eagles Lodge of Nelson. He is survived by his wife Nola, four sons, Ron of Passmore, Jim of Smithers, Neil of Slocan Park and Lynn of Nanaimo, four grandsons, Tyler, Randall, David and Danny, three step-grandchildren, Lee, Michelle and Coralee, two brothers, Peter of Vallican and Oscar of Gabriola Island. He was prede- ceased by his parents, sister, Olga Chernoff, and brother Terry. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 3023, Castlegar. : Funeral arrangements are under the di- rection of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel.
