Wednesday, December 16, 1992 @ Dance troupe # earns medals Eighteen Highland Dancers from the Debra Tompkins Troupe of Castle- gar underwent medal testing on Nov. 19. All the dancers passed their exams, with many of them receiving Commended and Highly Commended Sta- tus. eee In the Highland Dancer Cat- egory, the levels attended were: Gold Bar Il: Heather Shep- pard, Ami White. Gold Bar I: Johanna Markin, Kathryn Archibald, Heather Cook. Gold: Lauren Norman, Lind- say Barlow, Tiana Nedjelski, Jo- lene Littlejohn, Jennifer Post- nikoff. Silver: Lisa Lauder, Emma Davis, Stephanie Pacheco. Bronze: Glynis Waring. Pre-Bronze Sword: Lisa Miller-Jones. Pre-Bronze fling: Lisa Miller- Jones, Christine Archibald. Preliminary: Carolyn Archibald, Christine Archibald and Lis Miller-Jones. Scottish national results are as follows: Gold: Kathryn Archibald, Heather Cook, Johanna Markin. Silver: Jolene Littlejohn, Em- ma Davis, Stephanie Pacheco, Lauren Norma, Lindsay Barlow, Jennifer Postnikoff. Bronze: Glynis Waring, Lisa Lauder. Sandra Bald-Jones, for- merly of Scotland and now re- siding in Ontario, was the ex- aminer for the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance. Following the testing, she conducted a workshop for the dancers. The Tompkins Troupe con- tinues to do well in various competitions. In October, Glynis Waring earned three gold medals in Vernon for her dances in the Beginners seven-and-under section. Tiana Nedjelski brought home two golds and two bronze medals from the Novice Division of the Trail Indoor Games. Jennifer Postnikoff placed second in the Beginners Sec- tion and was awarded three silver medals.
