E : ‘Christmas lights add to city streets By CasNews Staff Those city Christmas lights decorating the down- town streets this holiday season have drawn favorable comments, Castlegar council was told this week. Ald. Len Embree said many residents have told him they're pleased to finally see the streetlight decorations. Embree added that the only complaint he’s received is that there's just not enough of the decorations. However, he said council and the Downtown Business- men's Association — which picked up part of the $10,000 cost — hope to put up more decorations in years to come. “Take that as a beginning,” he said. Mayor Audrey Moore agreed. “We must start small.” Moore also noted that she's heard “all sorts of ac- colades on the lights.” The special greeting form, which is purchased at post offices, comes with a selec- tion of messages and there is also space for a personal message or sketch.
