Walter Flux thinks so. The vice pres- ident of Castlegar’s vocal citizens group was named chairman to the city’s all- important Official Community Plan Up- date Committee Monday. _ “It’s all part of (CURB’s) acceptance in the community,” Flux said after being in- troduced as the chairman of the city coun- cil-selected committee. “Besides, it’s only fair that I do my part. He said communi- cation between CURB and city hall has become “friendlier” in recent weeks. The committee plans on holding six to eight planning sessions before unveiling its OCP update in August. In addition to committee input, the public will also be consulted. : Flux said the committee will send out some 400 questionnaires to Castlegar res- idents, looking for their comments. Also, prior to being scrutinized by the Advisory Design Panel and adopted by city council, the committee’s recommendations will be put to the test during three public hear- ings. “This plan is probably the most impor- tant document facing Castlegar,” Mayor id. “It will serve as the official expression for the use of land and water in our city into the next century.” cg aes = Sesh ht RRs eee a
