RETURN TO PROGRAMS A-Z hy SOC 120 - INTRODUCTORY SOCIOLOGY | This course is an introduction to the discipline. The sociological perspective is examined, along with the associated concepts and methods. Attention is directed to major areas such as culture, socialization, stratification and deviance. Students have an opportunity to research topics of interest. Prerequisites: English Studies 12 or equivalent with a grade of “C” or higher. SOC 121 - INTRODUCTORY SOCIOLOGY II This course examines the social life as it occurs in families, formal organizations, religion, political movements and other social systems. Student research projects are part of the course. Prerequisites: SOC 120. WS 100 - WOMEN’S STUDIES | An interdisciplinary course designed to introduce students to the study of women in global cultures as portrayed through literature and sociological studies. Topics to be covered include the women’s movement, sexuality, “herstory”, gender roles, philosophy and law.
