RECYCLING ADVISORY GROUP

Another volunteer group has come for-
ward to sponsor a recyclables collection day
in Castlegar.

This time it’s the Castlegar Rotary Club.

The event will take place on Saturday in
the Safeway parking lot from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As usual, the truck from the Regional Dis-
trict of Central Kootenay Recycles depot in
Nelson will be on hand.

Sort ordinary newsprint from colored fly-

ers.

It is OK to include glossy flyers with the
non-glossy ones. }

Newspapers and flyers should be bundled
into brown bags or put into cardboard box-
es.

Rotary recycling day set

Keep it all dry and clean.

Clean paper Gap nomi and brown paper
bags may also be dropped off. You may —
aluminum as well, including U.S. beer an
pop cans. Please do not crush the cans.

If they are crushed before they are put in-
to the baler at the depot, they won't stay in-
terlocked within the bales. Other aluminum
items, such as pie plates and clean foil are ac-
ceptable. Ifin doubt as to whether it is alu-
minum or not, put a magnet on it. Aluminum
in not magnetic.

More volunteer groups are needed for fu-
ture events.
