The Sanitary Inspector, Mrs Norman
Stephenson has been appointed ‘by the
Department of Health and Welfare to thi
district and his headquarters will be
in Trail. His duties will comprise the
inspection of milk production, Restaur-—
ant. sanitation, tourist camps, industr—
ial camps, garbage disposal, sewerage
disposal, water supply. Mr. Stephenson
is from Vancouver and has been trained
in a course provided by the Canadian
Public Health Association. Mr. Stephen-
son was appointed by the Village Comm—
issioners on Monday, November 18th as
the Sanitary Inspector for this dist-
ricte — : .
: Bhe Commissioners have had some
replies re the cemetery site, but they

=; 4would like very many more and -particul-
. jars of alternative sites.

At the end
of the month the issue will be closed.
STREET LIGHTING

There has been no further informat-—
ion re the arrival of the transformer
for the street lighting.
FIRE DEPARTMENT

Fire hydrants and stand pipes have
been checked over by the Fire Departme-

WATER DEPARTMENT
The Water Works Purchase Bylaw has
been sent to Victoria for soproval and
it is the hope of the Commissiczers to
submit it to the property owners for
their assent on December 1¢th, which
is the day of the Munici~s! Elections.
POUND BYLAW
The pound bylaw he. passed and will
.|be inforced.
AIRPORT
Mr. Re. Ae Do. W hems been appdinte
representative of the Municipality on
the Castlegar Airport Commission. The
Airport is to be taken over by the
Municipalities of the City of Nelson
and the Vil’ ages of Castlegar and Kinn~
aird. ' vo
DONATIONS
A donation of $10.00 has been made
to the Canadian National Institute for

ved an invitation from Mr. R. W. Diam—
ond, Vice=President and General Manager
of the Consolidated Mining and Smelting
Company of Canada, Limited, to visit
the Tadanac and Warfield plants next
Wednesday and attend the Companies
banquet in the Legion Hall, Trail, in
the evening. : :

Other Bodies attending will be the
Trail Board of Trade, The Trail Merch—
ants! Association, the Rossland Senior
Board of trade, the Rossland Junior
Board of Itrande and the Young Men's
Section of the Trail Board of Trade.

The tour of the plants commences at
1:50 PM. from the cafeteriaand will be
