HERE AND THERE WITH ARLEE Here I am again, never knew the days to go so fast. Maybe it is because we can’t Say we went “here” or “there” the day it snowed. Each day is exactly alike in that detail. I am getting quite adept at clinging to a “bucking” snow plow while “Cloud” and “Snappy” break a ~ BUSINESS trail to the. highway — jgood- ness knows we have to do it often enough. Never a dull moment at the Ranch — how much tooth paste can a child eat before getting sick? Of course one has to take into consideration how much it took to wash the basin, part of the wall, a little stool and one or two spots on the floor. Friday there was a small to- boggan party and we fooled around most of the time “watch- ing.” I am _ still an interested bystander but any day now I just know I'll have to give in and see what all the yells and laughing are about. Saturday there was going to be a big sleigh ride party. There was lots to be done — only question was where: ta: start. Just about the time the ambition bug bit me the door opened and they carried a limp, little bundle of fur in and said “make a bed in a box, Teddy’s been hurt!” Teddy is. the latest addition to our family — no pedigree —- no man- ners. to speak of and certainly no earthly use whatsoever, but it might just as well have been one of the kiddies for all the at- tention and sympathy that one little dog received. It seems he ran. under one of the horses’ feet a nd she got excited and kicked him three times before he could be dragged out of the way. Poor little fellow was uncon- scious more than ten minutes. So naturally, the morning was spent sitting on the floor talk- ing to little Teddy. After lunch another hurst of ambition struck me but before I could take ad- vantage of it some little folk who were out playing called to tell me Mr. Anderson wanted me. You'll never guess where I found him so I'll tell you — he was about 50 feet above the ground in a 160 foot tamarac. By the time I got there he was coming down but he had heen to the top ta put a light that could be seen from all of Castle- gar. As I say — never a dull moment! ROBSON NEWS Mrs. P.
