It is poor economy upon the part of the city to not provide the fire depart- ment with another team. The chemical engine ia useless because there is no team to take itout. With a good team it could always be firat to the fire becs use it would not wait for laying of hose. To put out a fire before it gets fairly under way is what chemical engines are made for, and the city council would be seri- ously blamed if Rossland should have a bad fire for lack ofa team of horses. ROSSLANDS’ ONLY EVENING PAPER THE _RECORD FIFTEEN CENTS A WEEK. The department dare not leave the hose cart and take the chemical engine for fear it might not be effectual. Both should answer fire alarms, and the mayor and city council should provide enother team at once. et It is to be hoped that the deal for the minority stock in the Le Roi haa finally been secured by the B.
