Synopsis of Bylaw No. 910
Portion of Electoral Area I and Portion of
Electoral Area J (Brilliant and Robson)
Animal Control and Licencing

WHEREAS the Board of the Regional District of Central Kootenay has,
under Bylaw Nos. 483 and 505, established specified areas within Electoral
Area I and Electoral Area J for the purpose of providing animal control
services to the communities of Brilliant, Robson, Raspberry and Immediate
Adjacent Areas;

AND WHEREAS the Regional District Board has been requested to
revise and update the animal control regulations;

NOW THEREFORE the Regional District Board is proposing to adopt
bylaw 910 which will

- require all dogs within the control areas to be licenced and will
establish applicable dog licence fees;

— Prohibit dogs from being on private property without the landowner's
consent; being on public property while unleashed, or being in a
public place prohibited to dogs;
authorize the appointment of an Animal Control Officer and Pound
Keeper and govern their conduct;

— establish regulations relative to im; ing animals;

— regulate the licencing and operation of kennels;

- authorize enforcement of the bylaw by ticketing.
