The NOTHING CARD looks like your basic credit card only it is stamped with a picture of Millard Fillmore who stood for nothing, did nothing and actually ran on the Know- Nothing ticket in 1850. Frankly, I regard the NO- THING CARD as a way out of the economic pits. The card buys nothing. Therefore, you owe nothing at'the end of the | “ month, ‘have ho monthly state~ ments, no finance charges, no computer errors, no letters or mailgrams or phone cards threatening to take it away and no travel magazines, - Public Grand Honors Visiting Temple dij Given Visiting Pythian were on hand when Kootenay “Temple 437 Pythian Sisters .:met ‘in the’ Masonic Hall last ‘Thursday for their bi-monthly ‘tieeting. 444 Mrs. Joan Marks, M.E.C., ‘piesided over the routine meet- jing and welcomed visiting ‘temple dignitaries, '® D.D.G.C. Once North Americans put aside as much as they want to spend and pay in cash, prices will go down, business will give you the money instead of the ~ eard company and according to the brochure, “People will buy fewer lamps with hula dancer bases.” My husband is crazy about the NOTHING CARD. He says it's safer than Traveler's Checks, buys what we can .afford and besides, Millard, Fillmore photographs well. He won't let me leave ‘home without it. Spoison prevention. campaign. Hive Health Minister Bob Me- Clelland said “Poison Preven- - tion Program °78" did not yield as many old prescriptions as he would have liked. But he added: “We made a start in warning the public of the risks of keeping old unised medications in their homes.” Organized by the College of Pharmacists in co-operation with the B.C. Drug and Poison Information Centre and the ministry of health, the cam- paign was assisted by about 400 Connie Morris and Past Grand Chief Laura Dewis. Presented with a gift was D.D.G.C. Ellie Maitland who, after a few brief comments, read a beautiful poem entitled “Friendship”, her theme for the upcoming district convention on April 28 in Rossland. Approximately 40 mem- bers and guests were in atten- ghout the pro- vince. People were invited to return their old prescriptions, and leave them in cannisters in which they were incinerated, As an additional incentive, the campaign included a draw on a Mexican holiday for two. Many people deposited un- wanted prescriptions in the special containers without iden- dance. During the hour, a suitably-decorated cake was cut by Mrs. Maitland.
