Willie Foss, the boy arrested for steal- ing, is getting desperately tired of feed- ing on bread and water, and with tears in his eyes begs to be released every day. There are some other tough boys in the city who are likely to find them- selves in the same place with Willie, as the chief has instruced his officers to ar- rest all boys that are found hanging about the streets at night, without a sufficient excnee, and boys who are canght doing any sort of mischief. Some boys have an idea it would be a nice thing to get arrested and have their name in the paper, but if they knew what was in store for them they would flee from it quicker than from a ly plague: They are treated with scant ceremony and bread and water diet is something thet the most hearty stomach will rebel againet.
