The Women’ Ss Aglow meet =f | Women who attended the Women's Aglow Fellowship luncheon meeting March 18 at the Hi Arrow Arms, re- - ceived extra blessings. Guest speaker Eva Doss was accompanied by Vivian Irons, Leone Johnson and Willa Harper of the Spokane area. : Vivian, who Leone intro- duced ‘as a “strong prayer warrior,” shared a brief per- sonal testimony. Like Jonah, she was a reluctant mission- ” ary, but yielded herself to the Lord and He is working things out. She.‘told the ladies about witnessing to her father. Though she “had: had. a special relationship with her father, Vivian could go only so far in talking to him. about the Lord. Shortly before. -he.. died. Vivian talked to her father about Jesus Christ, and though he could not commun- icate with her, she knew that ie knew what she was ‘ey; a had kept him: alive long enough for him to make things right between himself and his saviour. She urged the ladies pres- ent not to wait until: tomor- row to do God’s bidding, for tomorrow may be too late. Throughout’ the meeting the ladies «were greatly blessed by Willa'’s beautiful singing, Leone is a teen challenge jail volunteer, in Spokane. She will also be working with the Middle East Gospel Qut- reach this year, to minister to - women there. She will be travelling back with Eva to take a ministry team to Egypt and Jordan, Eva Doss was Leone's interpreter in Egypt. She holds degrees in psychology and philosophy from Caior, University. Eva was.instru- mental in establishing the first Women's Aglow chapter in Cairo in 1979. The 40 million people of Egypt are crowded around the Nile, as the rest of Egypt is desert, Doss told: the group. ‘The Egyptian people suffer oppression, and much prayer and struggle is required for Christians to be able to ga- ther to worship. There is a great hunger in the hearts of the people for God's work, she. said. She asked the women to pray for the people of Egypt, especially for the Christians in prison and their families. “The Lord is calling people tobe holy in the whole nation of the world,” Eva said. She referred to Genesis 2:16, 17, about man’s original sin and his separation from God. Eva said she is a quiet person who likes to be alotie, and. therefore, did. not ‘like being. a: pastor's daughter‘in church surrounded by peo- ple. But she realized that God put her there to intercede for | the people. He gave her humble work but putting her into a noisy home with many children in order to break her that she would come to depend upon ‘Him ‘entirely.
