en ence a ee ee IN MENORY _ |George Taranoff On Thursday, March 19, 1992, George Taranoff of Castle- gar passed away at the Trail Regional Hospital at the age of 86 years. Mr. Taranoff was born April 1, 1905 at Kamsack, Saskatchewan. He grew up in Saskatchewan and moved to New Westminster, B.C. in the early 1930s. He came to Castlegar in 1980. During his life he worked in sawmills. ; He is survived by his wife, Annie of Castlegar, one son, Mike and daughter in-law Verna Taranoff of Blueberry Creek, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son in 1974. Funeral services were be held at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel on Sunday, March 22, 1992 at 7 p.m. and Monday, March 23, 1992 at 10.a.m. with burial Monday at the Glade Cemetery at noon: Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel. . Walter Fred Wright Walter Fred Wright died on March 5 in Vancouver Gener- al Hospital at the age of 48. d He was the son of Gladys and Fred Wright. He grew up and attended schools in Grand Forks, Coalmont and Princeton graduating in 1960 from Princeton High School. He then studied at Trail Business College and then did au- dit work in Vancouver. He worked at Kootenay Savings Credit Union in Castlegar and managed the South Slocan branch when it opened. For the past 17 years he worked at the Grand Forks Cred- it Union. He was a lifetime member of the Kinsmen Club and wason the executive board of Grand Forks Labor Day baseball tour- nament. i He was a founding member of the Grand Forks Border Bru- ins and did bookkeeping for St. John’s ambulance as well as volunteering many hours for the heart fund. He was predeceased by his mother in 1974 and father in 1977 and niece Tammy in 1982. He is survived by three brothers, Bill (Lorraine) in Grand orks, Ron (Dawn) in Edmonton and Denis in Nelson, five nieces and two grandnieces. Cremation took place in Vancouver and internment of ash- es in Grand Forks. Services were held at Toew’s Funeral Chapel in Grand Forks. Memorial contributions can be made to B.C. Heart and Stroke fund, Box 1794 Grand Forks, VOH 1H0.
