The most important part of the city council proveeding last evening so far as the pay are was the re- port of the city treasurer. It showed the receipts for January amounted to $8,974.40, in which the largest amount was $8,110 for liquor licenses. For Feh- ruary the receipts were $1,278.25. The disbureements for the two months amounted to $4,108.18, of which $2,506.- 49 was expended in January and $2,696.- Ps 80 in February. The bank account on February 28 waa $17,498.64, and the cash on hand $858.73, making a total of $17,857.37, Alderman Hvoson wanted to know what had become of the $34,000 borrowed Sold by Goodeve Brothers, for street improvevement last year and z ~ suid he thought somo of it had been ex- pended for shoveling snow.
