B4 CASTLEGAR NEWS, September 13, 1981 $ Wedding vows exchanged Rev. Ted Bristow officiated at the afternoon ceremony on July 18 which united in marriage Patricia Anne Wallace and Robert R. Keller. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Wallace and the groom is the son of Mr. Russell A. Keller. Both families are from Castlegar. The radiant dark-haired bride, entering the church on the arm of her father, carried a cascade bouquet of peach roses accented with babies breath and white’silk bows. Nestled in her bouquet were two white doves. Her gown of peau de sole, featured a high neckline, full sheer sleeves, and fitted bodice flowered with appliques and seeded pearls. The A-line skirt extended into a semi-cathedral train featuring a back panel of tiers of ruffles. Her finger tip veil of silk illusion misted from a picture hat and was secured by five peach silk roses. As jewellery she wore opal earrings, a gift of the groom. The bride's d Jana grey tuxedo and ruffled shirt, carried the wedding rings on a white satin heart-shaped pillow edged with lace. The rings were secured by peach ribbon and rosebuds. Pianist, Mrs. Joanne Soberlak, accom- panied her daughter, soloist Miss Kari Soberlak, who sang “The Rose” and “I Honestly Love You” during the ceremony. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Wallace chose a pale yellow floor-length dress with a corsage of peach silk roses. The grooms aunt, Mrs. Dorothy Chalmers, chose a pink dress and a corsage of yellow camellias. The reception and dance were held at the Fireside Place and the peach and silver wedding theme prevailed in the decor of the banquet room. In charge of the guest book was Miss Tracy Soberlak. Grace was said by Mrs. Pearl England, aunt of the groom. The toast to the bride was proposed by the brides uncle, Mr. John cousin of the bride, Sandra Debiasio, and Terese Moroso wore gowns of peach silk crepe with crocheted three quarter length sleeveless jackets. They wore peach flowers in their hair and each carried a nosegay bouquet of white shasta daisies accented with peach bows and babies breath. Their bracelets of silver chain were gifts of the . bride. The bride's brother, Mr. Dan Wallace, best man, and Mr. Ernie Milliard and Mr. Mike Schmidt, attended the groom. All wore silver grey tuxedos and ruffled shirts edged with peach embroidery. Peach carnation bouton- nieres complemented their suits. The.groom was attired in a silver-grey guit with tails and a peach rose from the bride's bouquet complemented his outfit. Cousin of the bride, Ian Quigley, in a silver Other toasts proposed were to the bridesmaids by the best man; to the bride and groom by Mr. Ron Soberlak; to the groom by Mr. Dave Henne; and the groom thanked the bride's parents for his beautiful bride and proposed a toast to them. Master of Ceremonies for the evening was uncle of the bride Mr. Ewan Wallace. The couple cut a three-tiered wedding cake featuring a crystal top consisting of wedding bells enclosed by a heart and supported on a base by two swans. It was decorated with peach roses and kissing angles and was skirted with peach tulle. Wedding guests attended from Carmel, Calif,; Brandon and Carberry, Man.; White District scholarship award recipients The board of school trus- tees of School District No. 9 (Castlegar) has announced the 1981 recipients of the District Scholarship Award. These awards are to acknow- ledge excellence in learning fields other than academic, and consist of an award of $500, plus a scholarship of $500 to District Award win- ners who proceed to a post-secondary institution to pursue career-oriented stud- ies, or who onrol in a training program approved by the ministry of labor.
