Victorla's Faculty of Educa-
tion has been in Castlogar,
heading UVic's teacher certi-
fication program at Selkirk
College.
The program is a one-

-year project comprising both

classroom studies and eight

months of practical exper- .

ience in the schools. Design-
ed to complement the pro-
grams of the local community
colleges, the year of educa-
tion studles will count-as the
third year‘of post-secondary
studies, enabling the partici-
pants to be certified.

This year, Williams and ° :

seconded from school boards
in Castlegar, Trail, and Daw-
son Creek will train elemen-
tary teachers. Next year
they hope to be able to train
secondary teachers, as well.
