Castlégar News November 15.1997 Moderates lead Baptists ATLANTA (AP) -- Four Southern Baptist state con- ventions have turned away leadership bids by funda- mentalists, who have enjoyed about a decade of control of the largest Protestant de- nomination in the United States.
