All was silent now at lost, ; . for this was the day after Christmas, The crowds had come and now had gone each to his own way, dnd the littered floor bore the evidence of their annual Christmas shopping spree, It would take some time to get it back to some resemblance of order after the Christ- mas rush, Presently the old man’s eyes focused on something in a dim corner and felt strangely atfracted to it. It was ‘a manger setting con- structed of wood. and paper, artisically de- signed to bring out the message of the first Christmas when Christ descended from Hea- ven to become the Babe of Bethlehem, But it now lay Jed ina corner. Strongly moved, the old man with tear-dimmed eyes viewed ‘the remains. “Too bad, too bad. No room for. you in this store. You were only in the customers way,” he said. Such was the attitude of the innkeeper. when he replied to the weary couple, “Na toom ih the inn.” This scene, is duplicated over and over every Christmas. With the ap- ptoach of Christmas, some note it only as a day upon the calendar, how few come with repentance and faith, (Acts 20:21) so that the da and d ration Smith's Plumbing Low Bid: Of Conversion ‘Smith's Plumbing and Heat- ing Ltd, was. successful bidder to install a.gas heater in the Public Worlss garage and to.con- vert the ofl furnace heating sy- stem In the Village Office to gas, tying it in with the gas furnace in the Fue Hall, to change the life pti the “old to the new” through the new creation in the Christ of Christmas, (2 Cor, 5:17). On the “religious side” it is hardly any : better, The lips may move with the music of the carols but the heart knows nothing of the song of the redeemed’ (Rev. 1:5,6). There may. be. the. going to church because it is fashionable and respectable ‘to do. But few and far between are those who go. be- .yond the church to the great Head thereof to give the -praise, worship the glory unto Himself alone, tragic but true, all too often Christ is crowded out of Christmas. The truth must touch and transform so| that like the wise men of the First Christmas, the coming of Christ into the heart through faith ina Personal Saviour, changes all-things into “another way”: (Matt. 2:12) “Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful Oh, come, all ye faithful, Joyful -and triumphant, Oh, come Ye, Oh, come ye to Bethlehem; Come and behold Him, , Born the King of angels: CHORUS Oh, come, Jet us adore‘Him, Oh, come, -let us adore Him, - Oh, come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.
