Faweett, who said she wants to forget her “unfor- tunate past as an angel,” will star in The Beate Klarsfeld Story, a 90-minute movie to be broadcast on ABC and French television next fall It is based on the true story of Klarsfeld, a German ANNOUNCEMENT woman who risked her life ferreting out former Nazis and bringing them to justice. The movie highlights her search for Klaus Barbie, the “Butcher of Lyon,” whom she discovers hiding in South America. Producer William Kayden, whose credits include the award-winning “Missing Chil dren,” called the script “au thentic to a fault.” He said scriptwriter Fred. erick Hunter, a former jour. nalist who lived extensively in Paris, conducted lengthy interviews with Mrs. Klars- feld, and was familiar with the war period. Klarsfeld said he thought his wife resembled Fawcett and he and Beate were not concerned about the Amer Blue Top Burger New Phone No 365-8388 Mary E. Faweett shook her blond mane and said: “It would be too easy to say yes, but if it meant risking my life, I just don't know.” Fawcett said she met with Klarsfeld in Hollywood, read her books and saw movies and documentaries on World War II in order to prepare for the role, which she called “the greatest opportunity to come my way. For me, great scripts like this are rare.” Students exhibit paintings Students of the Marrit Kortegaard Studio will be exhibiting their recent oil paintings at the Nelson Mu seum June 2-28.
