One great benefit: te be derived from the existence of such an in- stitution would be that an accurate report of the stock market could be obtained and would undoubtedly be.published in the press reports of .the mining stock market. The manipulation of the stock market by more interested than scrupulous parties would then be discontinued, and the mining industry would the sooner rest on a firm business basis. The mining industry of British Columbia is as everlasting as the hills and will form its chief source of revenue for all time to come. Therefore the sooner it is aceepted as a sound business enterprise the quicker it will be acknowledged as such by the great financial centres of the world, from which it must draw its capital to develop its in- exhaustable mjneral tvealth. —_—E—_CE—e The nomination of nine candi- dates for city aldermen by Mr. Lalonde’s campaign committee is very presumptuous to say the least. — SPOKANE STOCK EXCHANGE.
