ber 30, 1992 ¥ Now’s the time to count yourself in. OPEN YOUR DOOR TO THE ENUMERATORS. THEY WILL PUT YOUR NAME ON THE VOTERS’ LIST. REFERENDUM “9o2 If you are a Canadian citizen who will be at least 18 years of age by October 26, 1992, you have the right to vote. But to exercise this right, your name must first be on the Voters’ List. BETWEEN OCTOBER 2 AND 7, OPEN YOUR DOOR TO THE ELECTIONS CANADA ENUMERATORS. Elections Canada Enumerators, wearing yellow badges, will collect the names of all the eligible voters living at your address, and put them on the Voters’ List. This guarantees your right to vote. ENUMERATION IN RURAL AREAS In certain rural areas, the Enumerators will not neces- sarily come to your door. However, the Voters’ List will be posted in a public place and voters can check if their names have been registered. If your name has not been registered, contact the Elections Canada office in your riding before October 19 to have it added. ENUMERATION OF STUDENTS If you are a student who is eligible to vote, your name must be on the Voters’ List of the riding where your “place of ordinary residence” (your home) is located. This determines where you will be enumerated and where you will exercise your right to vote. YOUR ENUMERATION CARD CONFIRMS THAT YOU ARE ON THE VOTERS’ LIST. After Enumeration, you'll receive an Enumeration Card in the mail. It confirms that you are on the Voters’ List. It’s worth keeping on hand as it contains useful informa- tion such as the date of the referendum, the name of your riding, the address of your Polling Station and the tele- phone number of the Elections Canada office in your riding. If you don’t receive this card, or if your name is registered incorrectly, you can still set the record straight during the Revision Period. All Polling Stations in Canada, with few exceptions, C provide level access. If this symbol f appears on your Enumeration Card, your Polling Station is not fully accessible. To make special arrangements, contact the Elections Canada office in your riding.
