Audrey Hepburn's profound love of
remembered by UNICEF

children

Submitted

Audrey Hepburn’s commit-
ment to UNICEF represented
hope for millions of children
around the world. Upon hearing
the sad news of her death, on
January 20, 1993, James P.
Grant, Executive Director of
UNICEF stated.

“Moved by a profound love
of children, she set aside repeat-
edly the comforts of home to
visit some of the most deprived

and often forgotten people of
this planet, for whom she
became an effective voice. Her
eloquent and deeply moving
appeals on their behalf helped
raise not only funds but the con
science of the world communi-
ty. The children of the world
have lost a true friend, and an
important and eloquent advo
cate.”

Fund will benefit Specific
UNICEF projects helping chil-

work as heart-breaking, but her
way of dealing with the pain,
poverty and disease was to do
something about it
