Page 14B The Castlegar ‘Sun Wednesday, April 21, 1993 Audrey Hepburn's profound love of remembered by UNICEF children Submitted Audrey Hepburn’s commit- ment to UNICEF represented hope for millions of children around the world. Upon hearing the sad news of her death, on January 20, 1993, James P. Grant, Executive Director of UNICEF stated. “Moved by a profound love of children, she set aside repeat- edly the comforts of home to visit some of the most deprived and often forgotten people of this planet, for whom she became an effective voice. Her eloquent and deeply moving appeals on their behalf helped raise not only funds but the con science of the world communi- ty. The children of the world have lost a true friend, and an important and eloquent advo cate.” In memory of the humanitari an who moved us with her pas sion and who sometimes risked her life to help the children of MONDAY APRIL 26, 1993 this world, UNICEF has estab- lished an international Audrey Hepburn Memorial Fund, The Fund will benefit Specific UNICEF projects helping chil- dren in especially difficult cir- cumstances in Africa. Hepburn often described her work as heart-breaking, but her way of dealing with the pain, poverty and disease was to do something about it Canadians who want to contribute to the memorial fund can send their contribu- tion to: The Audrey Hepburn Memorial Fund, c/o UNICEF British Columbia, 443 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, Ontario, M4S 2L8, or to UNICEF British Columbia, 536 W. Broadway, Vancouver, B.C., VSZ 1E9 Thanks to the anticipated generosity of UNICEF support- ers in Canada, Audrey Hep- burn’s last and most heartfelt wish that her work for UNICEF would continue after her death will certainly come true. cable 10 | ~ Schedule For April 19 - 25 6 pm Mon. © 9 am Tues. - BERENSTAIN BEARS GO TRAVELLING 8:30 pm Mon. © 11:30 am Tues. - 1992 USCC YOUTH FESTIVAL (Part 1) 9:30 pm Mon. © 12:30 pm Tues. - WEST KOOTENAY TODAY T pm Wed. © 9:30 am Thurs. © 7 pm Sun. - MUSIC FROM THE MOVIES 9 pm Wed. © 11:30 am Thurs..¢ 9 pm Sun. - MAXWELL INTERNATIONAL BAHA'I SCHOOL DANCE TROOP 10:30 pm Wed. © 1 pm Thurs. © 10:30 pm Sun. - CASTLEGAR CITIZEN OF THE YEAR 7 pm Thurs. © 9 am Fri. - CASTLEGAR CITY COUNCIL IPM [em oelel LS @;| @® KSPS | KNOW | C8C Van, crv] tm | st Lo] ot | se Loa ASE @®|@/| @| @® FAM | WTBS| WGN | KAYU @ YOUTH] VISN 0 18 30 45 News Cheers Mark Hassel- bach Un- plugged Kojak 26:48 Highway Joy of jusic News ureeka Video- flow Mi the East Summer Wine This Is Gan MORNING 5:00 @® “Running Mates " (1992) Diane Keaton Ed Harris. 6:00 @ “Goin’ South” (1978) Jack Nicholson, Mary 700 @ “Wisecracks” (1991 ‘Johnny Belinda” $00 @® “Barbarians at the Gate’ (1993) James Gamer, Pryce. 10:05 @® “One in a Million: The Ron LeFlore Story” (1978) LeVar Burton, Madge Sinciawr nee Groundstar Conspiracy” (1972) George Peppard, Michael Sarrazin AFTERNOON 12:00 @® “Ten Who Dared” (1960) Brian Keith John Beal 12:30 @ “Best Shots” (1991) Lyman Ward, Kim 200 @ For Stiffs and a Trombone” (1991) -Robraie Germain Houde, Anais Goulet 400 @ “Strictly Business” (1991) Tommy Dav- ‘dson, Joseph C.
