The meeting was opened by|S#ge" on the observance of Lent, singing. the missionary hymn “In Christ there is no East or West,”|minutes of the previous meeting followed by the litany. Mrs. Kennedy read a por- tion from the study book entitled “The Way in Africa.” Phythian Sisters Hold Successful April Fool’s Tea The members of the Pythian Sisters held a very successful April Fool’s Day tea in the Twin Rivers hall. The hall was decor- ated with skilis, golf clubs, tennis rackets, skates and other. sports equipment. The ten tables were covered with gingham cloths and each centered with some kind of sport *. being played by little plastercine figures, The head table was a ski hill and was made up by Mrs. Kay McIntyre and Mrs. Muriel Grunerud. The ladies were also dressed in sports clothes, such as baseball plaers, ‘skippers, étc: The Jadies did a very good business by. taking out trays to the business people. Committees in charge were: -kitchen, Mrs, Edith Sherbiko, Mrs, Clara Saunders, Mrs. Joyce Bradford, Mrs. G. Leachman, Mrs. 3. Mrs. Toogood read a letter from the diocesan president, Mrs, Moore, in which the main theme was ,dominion life membership. After a short discussion it was moved by Mrs. Horswill and seconded by Mrs. West that a donation of $5 go towards a dom- inion life membership for Mrs. F. V. Harrison of Summerland for her outstanding work on the dominion diocesan board. It was moved by Mrs, J. F. Killough, seconded by Mrs. Stainton, that $10 be sent to the Roberta Tilton Fund. . The president spoke of the impending visit of Sister Rose- mary Anne, and of a joint meet- ing of the WA's of Robson, Kin- naird and .Castlegar to be held in the” Parish hall on April 30 at 2.30 pm. with the serving of Mrs, Killough gave her soc- ial service report. The president gave the WA a floral bank which was admired by all the members. Mrs, Toogood closéd the meeting with prayer.
